The Anniversary of the Little Rock 9, 62 Years Later
It hs been 62 years, and there are protests being held outside
of the historical Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. September 25,
2019 marked 62 years since the Little Rock 9 braved the hatred oppositon to become
the first black students to integrate the school. Students, parents, alumni and
the members of Grassroots Arkansas stood outside the school to commemorate the
anniversary of the special day. This came on the heels of the states' decision
to give limited local control to the Little Rock School District. There were
people outside the school protesting the state’s decision. The protestors plan
to continue to host meeting and fight for total over the district and to get
new members elected. Over six decades later
